Creativity Nativity Scene's EP "Sometimes We Arrive At The Shortfall": A fascinating sunrise of sounds and emotion.

Self-composed musician in Perth Adam Lloyd Davis creatively returns by dropping his latest mesmerizing EP. "Sometimes We Arrive At The Shortfall." The five-track project epitomizes Davis's unique sound, all created on his iPhone and shaped with various apps. His inspirations include such greats as Ennio Morricone and a sincere love for the Old West, still spooling out cinematic soundscapes as haunting as those envisioned.

The EP begins with "The Prophet." Its somber tones with a hint of joy and, just possibly, one pleasure to gain through this track take on religious overtones, representing the resilience and strength Davis has exhibited throughout his life. This introspective narrative continues in "A Son is Born," which is an incredibly powerful song. It mixes ambient textures with Western-style melodies to express a sincere emotion that evokes both longing and hope. The song speaks personally of Davis battling illness during his struggle to survive.

"Ride By Nightfall" sets a more cheerful tone. Rhythmic drive and melodic progressions conjure up the Old West spirit in an adventurous light; it's easy to hear the formidable influence Hollywood-era Western cinema has had on each note, conjuring up imagery as vast as all the deserts and endless horizons. It can be easily noted that here's one that strikes with a punchy but thought-provoking missile, with the hope of typifying the more lithe and optimistic tone of the EP as compared to the earlier work by Davis.

The title track, "Sometimes We Arrive At The Shortfall," sums up the EP's raw emotional core. It deals with themes of acceptance and closure married within huge, ambient texturing and haunting melodies. He sums up the narrative of the song, taking listeners through introspection and growth. The EP wraps itself with Echoes of the East, a nostalgic, timeless song that believably ends the narrative arc of the EP.

The uniqueness of "Sometimes We Arrive At The Shortfall" lies in Davis's creative approach to song-making. Entirely composed and produced with his iPhone from home in Perth, Western Australia, the EP proves his creative side and commitment to his art. It also exhibits Adam's unconventional manner in finding ambient electronica and Western motifs, thus dotting an aesthetic yet uncharted map within current music.

A deeply poignant and exquisitely wrought EP, "Sometimes We Arrive At The Shortfall," tracks Adam Lloyd Davis's journey and stands out as an artistic declaration of dogged creativity. Creativity Nativity Scene pushes boundaries of what music can be with this eerie, artfully approachable record.
