Clare Easdown's "A Song for Elon"- An electric musical protest

Clare Easdown is a rising artist from Menai, Australia, with a raw and unapologetic approach to music. Her latest single, “A Song for Elon,” is powerful political commentary dressed in an electrifying sonic bow. This offering presents a collaboration between Clare and Jade Ryan, two female artists combining the punk-rock ethos and activism of bands like Pussy Riot, Bikini Kill, and Amyl and the Sniffers to evoke an ardent and socially charged experience.

“A Song for Elon” tackles the veil of power behind assiduous capitalism, mainly concerning its contemporary representative, Elon Musk, and the general powers that govern. It makes a revolting contrast between the lives of the extremes of wealth and those far below, making this an enactment of protest. The vocals are brashly naked and breathtakingly implausible; they roar down against anyone defying human behavior.

To add great pungency to the release, it was recorded under the demo's condition while the artists were deliberately doing so.

Clare recorded the song on an iPhone and Apple headphones, enhancing her message that music should be a cheap commodity in society; lo-fi production further adds an underground, authentic feel, thereby making the song more relatable and biting.

If nothing else, the message is being taken a stage further as Clare and Jade perform in renowned venues such as The Moshpit Bar and LazyBones Lounge. Their fearless approach toward music and activism sets them apart in an industry that too often chooses to avoid political controversy.
